We can search for all our lives. Many people do. And we're probably just as empty as in the beginning.
Other people – whatever they think – hear that they need to look within. It makes sense if you think about it. Especially if you've been looking for outdoor shows and studying the hard way: you can't buy a house big enough to fit.

Not that there is anything wrong with any of these things. But they have nothing to do with performance. It's like trying to eat an illusion. It's like watching a food channel on TV and hoping to be stuffed.
So it makes sense to look inside. But often when we look inward, we don't like what we see. Because the first thing you encounter is lint, scum, and dirt: the cloud of unresolved emotions that surrounds nearly everyone on earth.
The reason it's not allowed is that you didn't want to at first. That's why people are so motivated to look beyond themselves. Because they saw the foam and concluded you are foam. After all, they could find the only foam. The workmanship is the line separating genius from madness. This is a way to inflate your foam so you can get a reality.
